Self-Assessment
The Self-Assessment is designed to allow teachers to evaluate where they are in the ten standards that they will be evaluated on during the school year. This document gives the evaluators an idea of the strengths the teacher possesses and the areas the teacher acknowledges a need for growth. The self-assessment also gives administrators an idea of what areas of staff professional development to schedule. Pre-Evaluation Conference
A follow up to the Orientation, the Pre-Evaluation Conference is the conference that must be held before any observation assessments can be held. This conference will typically occur in a group setting because the topics discussed are general in nature. The evaluator/administrator will discuss baseline data for the school and possibly any SMART goals that have been set by departments or grade levels. Expectations for the year will be set and the plan implementation may be given. Evaluators will possibly announce the time period for the first walkthroughs in this meeting. The results of the pre-assessment will often be discussed with teachers individually or recognized needs will be discussed with the group.
The evaluator will input the conference information into the TLE platform. The information can be seen from the teacher platform and any files attached can be viewed. Teachers then have an opportunity to add comments and attachments to the pre-evaluation conference if necessary. The teacher will then acknowledge the conference was held by signing off on the platform.
Now that you know what to expect in the Pre-Evaluation Conference, review the steps in the Sign-Off Process. Do not complete these steps until the Pre-Evaluation Conference has occurred.
